A Star Is Born

19Oct07

OK, let me explain this a bit. My son loves music! He is an amazing little drummer. He’s been playing since he was 4. My daughter has blown me away as well. She writes, sings and plays acoustic better than I could ever dream to play. I’ve posted a video here that gives you a glimpse of nothing I have just talked about. This is my son, playing with the video camera one night. He decided he would “sing” Dare You To Move by Switchfoot, one of his favorite bands. If you have not heard the song, here is your opportunity to hear my son “sing” it. Guitar solos and all!

Just a note. He did not want anyone to know he was singing, so the video is almost completely black, because this was recorded in his room at night…under the sheets.

ENJOY!

  1. So that was freaking awesome! Don’t ever lose that footage man, classic!!

ps. that song is so great!!

  2. So my Son just read my “Birthday” post to him and he informed me that it made up for posting this video. Whew I was so worried!

And I will never lose this footage πŸ™‚

  3. that is awesome…I love when I see my kids all into music…we even get the whole waynes world headbanging thing going on in the car

  4. WOW!

That reminds me of the music teacher and his student..

Teacher: Try closing your eyes when you sing!
    Student: How will that help?
Teacher: Then you won’t have to see us suffering!

Sorry Kota! I know that video was made in and meant to be private. Let that be a lesson to you – you just can’t trust your parent’s no matter how good they seem to be! πŸ˜‰

Be clear on this – your Mom seems like a nice person and all – but you gotta know that she’s got video that she’s just waiting for the right moment to show the world – your Dad just beat her to this one!

You know I’m right folks! πŸ˜‰

  5. (head hangs low)

  6. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

gotta watch out for those ‘nails’ ….
    Ping!

Okay, I just hope that when my three are this age they will praise God with songs behind closed doors, or as in this case, under covered sheets! πŸ˜‰ HA!

I love when he does the drum sound after “welcome to the fallout” heehee
    SO CUTE! πŸ˜€

You definately need to put up some video of him playing the drums. Awesome. πŸ˜€

  8. YAY!!!! Bran is back.

You gonna start blogging again? We missed you guys today!

  9. 9 Brandy

Hey I saw Tam and Shell and even your parents! Where the heck were you?! πŸ˜€ Besides on stage… πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I’m back and I will start my blogs again. I miss them. They are a great processing tool! πŸ˜‰
I need to first put a better anti-virus software on my computer. Those guys told me to use “Panda” ever heard of it?

  10. Bummer, I was pretty crazy this morning. Look for me next time, besides on stage πŸ™‚

I don’t like Panda just because of my experience at work with it. Of course our system is pretty crazy, so maybe it would work well in a home setting. Maybe someone here can give some better advise.

  11. my 2 cents worth?

sometimes you can get what you pay for – sometimes you can get ripped off with the big names too!

A priority for any AV/pc protection is frequent (Automatic) updating. I do mine every week without fail.

2 freebies i have had no problems with (yet!):
    AVG free edition
    Avira antivirus (European co)
( do a web-search for the free download sites – use the company’s own site.)

Best to keep in mind that any AV program can be ‘bypassed’ by those who know how. So never have total faith in them and be CAREFUL when you are on-line – even watch out for unauthorised activity occurring in the ‘background’ of your pc just by opening a new website on your browser – it does happen even with firewalls. One sign of this can be when a site takes longer to open than you expect, but not always!

New viruses are constantly being invented and immediately put on the net.

    This is a dangerous world.

  12. did you get that Brandy? lwbut, I agree that the single most common problem is that people do not continuously update the programs.

  13. Awesome. Yeah I vote for a video of him playing drums as well. I just started teaching my daughter guitar. It’ll be pretty rockin’ when I can post vids of her playing.

  14. I will work on getting a drum video together. I really enjoy hearing him play. Maybe I’ll have Kota and his Sis do something together πŸ™‚

  15. 15 Brandy

Crap. Yeah, I got it. My head hurts now. πŸ˜‰
Seriously, I have a love/hate relationship with computers.
Now I am not so sure I want to use Panda. Jake has one on his that the gov’t uses and he says he can probably get that on ours, but we will see….
    Thanks though! πŸ˜€

  16. Brandy (and everyone) just to make my comment on viruses above clearer…

If you click on a website and it does not immedaitely ‘load’ that is not a sign of ‘bad’ activity of itself… But if you can see your modem or router ‘data’ light flickering madly and nothing seems to be happening it probably means one of two things… either the website has to load a really big image file or other component it needs to display ‘properly’ (which frankly is ‘bad’ programming to me, but many people use it anyway) OR, you should probably note the web address in your browser at such time and copy it into your ‘NEVER allow content from this site’ in your email and/or surfing security software!

You do have surfing security software and a firewall installed on your and your kids’ pc’s – don’t you????

    How’s the headache?? πŸ˜‰
