OK, the title is a bit misleading, cause the fact is, this post is not about my opinion on who George Bush is.
But, this post is about your thoughts on an interesting article written as an editorial by the Washington Post today. The post is a pretty liberal source, and for them to write this either is foolish of them, or they are speaking the truth.
Basically…we look to be winning the war in Iraq, and the stance that our government has taken in dealing with the war seems to be proving to be correct.
Now, I don’t think anyone one here would be against us finishing this war and getting the heck out of there. But my thoughts turn to the upcoming elections now. Do you think, if the war is truly taking a turn for the better, that Obama is going to be politically hurt over this? Hillary could win from this(she supported the war), McCain will definitely win from this( He most definitely supports all aspects of it). But, Mr. Obama wants us to leave immediately(the repercussions could be horrendous) and he wants us to also lay down and cease building many of our weapons( that would be really interesting for our defense and others like Israel).
If Obama wins the nomination and the war is ending and we have won, can Obama still win the election?
Here is the article at the Post.

So, I was worried about this week. Friday-Sunday I was on a fishing/camping trip and generally those trips are all about hamburgers, chips and punch. But, I am happy to say that I took my “day off” on Saturday and enjoyed a great tri-tip feed with french bread and besides that, I was able to find foods that kept me close to what I needed to be doing.
I worked out 3 days instead of 4 last week, cause I spent all my work out time chatting with alot of you
Anyway, I figured I would not have gone down, maybe stayed even, but I didn’t. I am still moving which makes me happy!
So here are this weeks numbers…
Beginning week:
Weight 213
Waist 41″
Chest 44 1/4″
This week!
Weight 198.4
Waist 38”
Chest 43″
So I still lost some weight and I am down a bit on my waist as well. My chest stayed, but I don’t see that going down much anymore. I am working it pretty hard lifting and most my weigth is around my mid section. So we’ll see.
How are you all doing?!?!

Right now, I am enjoying an amazing weekend with my son and 100 other guys from our church.
Each year we hold an event called Fish Camp. It is a chance for guys of all ages to hang out together and camp, fish, BBQ and anything else you can do in the middle of the woods. I love it!
This last year our church had the privilege of working with our local BLM to lease a camp facility on a lake here in our area. The lake is called Howard Prairie and the camp is Called Camp Apserkaha. We have worked out a long term lease with the BLM to own this camp faility for $1 a year for the next 10 years. Amazing! We are doing a ton of work to the place, so it is not free, but I am excited to be there this year, because this is our first chance to hold fish camp there. Last fall my son and I went up to the camp facility to have our “sex talk”. You can read about that here
Here are some pics of where we are staying.

So, I will see you all on Sunday when we are back!

You will receive directions when you arrive
Perspective. Life is all about perspective. Looking at something differently can all of a sudden bring that thing to life. What once was depressing or frustrating, with a simple turn, can become something exciting and beautiful.
We watched “The Golden Compass” tonight. I loved it! It kept me entertained, never slowed down and it was all around a great story. I am excited to see the future movies in this series.
The basis of this movie was a group of people being oppressed by “rulers”. Children being taken away and stripped of their identity, their souls. The discovery that there is something that leads us away from truth. And the fight to claim the truth and live in it.
Sounds good doesn’t it. I agree.
The Christian community found this film to be something that it needed to rally against. To yell about. The Christian community saw this film as opposing God and heralding the church as the ultimate oppressor. they saw kids befriending demons and true evil as the hero. They saw a group of people that hated God. Perspective.
I saw a group of people standing for truth and seeking it, even in the midst of evil and oppression. I saw young kids on a journey of understanding what relationship and honor is. I saw a group of people hidden from sin as if it is something to be feared. Instead they look to expose it and know it for what it is. I saw people not afraid to fight for and stand for what is right Perspective.
What I saw tonight was an amazing reminder that we live in a world that oppresses God’s truth and righteousness. We live in a world where we are stripped of the identity God has given us, as others seek to fill us with what they think we should be and how we should live. I was reminded that even in the midst of evil, there is peace. Even in the midst of fear, there is protection and security. I was reminded tonight that God sent His Son, so that sin can have no hold on me. That sin can have no power over me. That sin can be understood and accepted and laid at the feet of Jesus.
Once we stop yelling, we often hear. What did you see?
So, many of you have those little pictures that pop up next to your comments on blogs. They are called Avatars. Each blog has it’s own little way of dealing with them. Some have them big, some small, but most are using them in some way.
Here’s the issue though. Let’s say you are a WordPress blogger and you want to comment on a blog that is not hosted on WordPress. Unfortunately, your avatar will not show up. So here’s the solution.
Gravatar.com
Gravatar.com has set up a service for you that universally links your email address to your avatar. Everytime you comment on a blog that accepts Gravatar (which is most of the bigger blogging services) your avatar appears there. Pretty slick.
So for all of you that hate not seeing your avatar all over the web, head over to Gravatar.com and click the sign up link. It will ask for your email address and then allow you to upload your favorite avatar. You can change it at anytime. The beauty is wherever you go, it will follow.
Make sure you are here at the blog at 6PM West Coast time on Thursday night!
That’s all I’m saying
I wanted to say thank you today to all of the amazing service men and women in our country. I don’t understand what you have gone through or are yet to go through. But I can truly say I understand the freedom you have allowed me to enjoy. Thank You.
I was reminded of that indebtedness today when I read a post by my buddy Jake. Take a second and read his post.
